I am originally from Belgium, but now I live and work in the Lake District, UK. I started making ceramics when I lived in Friesland, where I learned the throwing skills from a local potter. I worked with clay for several years whilst living in different European countries. When I moved to England I set up my own workshop in Devon. I worked with both earthenware and stoneware, decorating the pieces by scratching out various designs. I still use this ‘sgraffito’ technique on tableware. Recently I have become passionate about firing my pieces in wood and sawdust. It is a process I find exciting and interesting.
